Today is the day Marty went Back to the Future!

Nope!

"Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Huh? Think, McFly! Think!" — Biff Tannen

The Explanation

The Explanation

So, I completely "Photoshopped" that image. Actually, I used a free program called Gimp. I own the movie and am a big fan. I started by playing Back the the Future II on my computer and captured the image showing the time coordinates. Then, I used the graphical version of copy-and-paste to move parts of the image around.

To the right here you can see the original image. As you can see, the actual date is October 21, 2015. If today is not that day, then today is not the day that Marty McFly went to in Back to the Future II.

Why the deception?

Why the deception?

I keep seeing these ridiculous photos posted to Facebook and Twitter and I thought I just had to get in on the action. I have to thank my coworker, Jo, for the final inspiration. We were joking that there should be a site like this. I decided to take that joke and make it a reality. Thanks, Jo.

I don't really want to deceive you, but I think this parody of the Back to the Future timeline is a humorous meme that teaches a greater lesson: "Don't be so gullible, McFly!"

If someone sends you a picture, don't be so credulous as to assume it's true. Use Google, check your favorite news site, do something to verify that whatever is said is true and then repost it if it's true.

Or you can be a stupid troll and repost everything. That's your choice.

Why should I believe you?

Why should I believe you?

You shouldn't! I just said you should double check. Here are some other links you can use to verify me.

If you don't trust anyone, the last option is your best bet. The primary source on this one is pretty easy to get your hands on these days, though, my personal favorite is Back to the Future III.
